Writing a blog post about time and patience is something I never thought I would do.
I used to be, and am truthfully, still working on, trying to be more patient.
Being someone who is time efficient, I have had to learn that time and patience is the key to a happy life.
Wanting everything done ‘now’ has been one of my biggest defects.
Wanting everyone to run to my manual of turning up on time and doing things immediately, has created a lot of pain.
What I have learnt, is that sometimes, time just needs a little time.
    It’s a lesson I keep learning.
That no matter what goes down, if you give time some time, it will all work out just how it should.
Sometimes getting or having or doing that thing ‘now’ isn’t always the right way.
Sometimes giving that thing a little time is.
    Especially when in doubt.
    Because time is a healer.
    Time is a gift.
    Time leads to finding clarity.
It is time that can create space when most needed.
Because the truth is, it is actually all happening in the right time.
So this week, slow it down.
Relax it out and if there is anything that isn’t sitting comfortably with you, anything that isn’t going your way, just give it a little time.
You may find in a few weeks your answer has come, without you even needing to try.
    Happy Friday x

    1. This resonates with me hugely. I am always working to a schedule and yes, I expect if I am on time, then those around me should have the same respect and punctuality. It leaks in to my relationships too…because I feel something NOW, I expect my partner to feel that way to….NOW…well, actually, I did, until I started meditating.
Meditation has taught me to live in the now and relax a bit more. To be kinder, not only to those around me that may not be as super organised and punctual as I am, but also (and probably more importantly ) to myself. Having a sense of urgency is great when it comes to responding to my clients and being “on the ball” but actually, having a constant anxt in my stomach really isn’t. I used to believe that if I wasn’t going 100 miles per hour for 9 hours of every day, I was not giving my company value or my “hard work”….since meditating I have realised that I AM the value and working smart, not hard is the key. In my role, sometimes, those I approach may not be ready or willing to accept what I have to offer them, at that time. This used to annoy the hell out of me. Now, with a little help from my very relaxed boss and the meditation exercises I have developed over the past year, I have learned that maybe they aren’t ready now…but they may be in 6 months, or a year, or 2 years and you know what? That’s fine.
My relationships benefit more now, since I have taken the “control” I crave and given it to the Universe to manage. I am calmer, easier to be around and more understanding of those around me and it feels great. I don’t drive my relationships, I let them just “be” and if that doesn’t fit in with my life or if it makes me feel bad, well then I may have to decide to walk away, which, believe me, I have done. Those that are good for me now gravitate towards me and I have very little “time” for those that bring me down. Meditation made me feel others’ energies and I can quickly decide who is a giver and who will drain me.
Time is precious, but it’s precious NOW. The past is done, the future, well that will happen soon enough, but being in the now and realising that a constant race against the clock is just not healthy, has done me the world of good.
Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy your time on this planet….xxx
